Donating is a selfless act. Giving back to our children in need makes an impact in their lives and their future.
We need your help now more than ever to combat food insecurity amongst our community's children. With each passing day, more and more children are facing the threat of hunger. We cannot let this happen. We must ensure that the 2600+ children we feed every weekend and holiday break continue to receive the nutrition they need to thrive. By doing so, we can ensure that they come to school ready to learn and excel in all aspects of their lives. Will you join us in this essential fight against food insecurity?
Volunteering Is Awesome. It’s A Way To Change People’s Lives — And Improve Your Own!
Volunteers are the glue that holds our organization together and allows you to connect to our community and others and make it a better place. It builds self-confidence and self-esteem, can positively impact your physical and mental health and gives you a sense of purpose. Even helping out with the smallest tasks can make a real difference to the lives of the children we serve.
How do you best offer your talents? Your talents are needed to help expand the impact we make.
Talents we may overlook in ourselves are oftentimes needed and appreciated by others - organizing skills, data entry, creative fundraising, board service, raising awareness through social media, gathering supplies - the list is limitless.
Founded in 1999, Citrus County Harvest, Inc. started a Food Recovery program called Harvest. Each day, local restaurants donate remaining food at the end of the day. Our volunteers transport the perishables immediately to food pantries and meal services serving those in need. Two other programs, Blessings and Feed the Kids, provide low-income children meals during weekends within the school year and during the summer when out of school. Learn More
