When Citrus County Harvest, Inc. was founded in 1999, food recovery was the sole mission. Our Food Recovery program generally known as Harvest, is still in operation today.
Local restaurants donate food that remains at the end of the day to the Harvest program. Our volunteers transport the perishables immediately to food pantries and meal services that serve those in need.
Thanks to the amazing generosity in our community, this program currently does not require any funds.
Our current partners are:
Olive Garden
Outback Steakhouse
Panera Bread
Florida’s Good Samaritan Law, adopted by the Florida State Legislature in 1898, is designed with the intent of protecting all donors of food to the needy.
